The Auditory Connection mission.
The Auditory Connection is dedicated to improving the listening, communication, educational, behavioral, social, and emotional difficulties children experience as a result of their auditory disorders.
About The Auditory Connection. The Auditory Connection, PLLC, is a highly specialized pediatric audiology practice, with a locations in Illinois and Texas. We provide high quality comprehensive auditory processing evaluations, therapy, and education for children of all ages. If requested, we also work with schools to implement educational accommodations and special education services for Section 504 and Individual Education Plans. The Auditory Connection is unique; the practice focuses entirely on the central nervous system through the lens of audition. We implement a "whole-body, whole-brain approach," as the auditory system is impacted by attention, cognition, memory, language, emotion, and other brain functions. We have experience and expertise in typical and asynchronous neurodevelopment; every individual is unique. The children we serve have many similarities and many differences. Auditory processing disorders may manifest as academic difficulties but not all students with auditory processing disorders struggle in school. In fact, high achievers often mask their difficulties and employ compensatory strategies to meet or exceed educational demands. We will help you to understand the building blocks to effective and efficient listening and learning and teach you the rationale for remediation of foundational skills. We offer flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends and some holidays. We also have advanced certifications in a variety of evidence-based interventions and implement a variety of movement-based activities to engage multiple sensory systems during therapy. Finally, we subscribe to the team approach and will make necessary referrals when other specialists may be able to help with more brain connections.
